yesterday i went down to see my friend george esquivel, the amazingly talented, orange county based shoe maker. everything here is completely hand made...beautiful stuff! i'm proud to own a good few pairs of his shoes and boots...it was great to finally see the whole process. world domination beckons george!

daily inspiration #134

i'm a huge fan of both photography and crazy 'café' walls...i remember going to luis from flaunt magazines house a few years ago, and he had art on every available wall space...inspiring! i nicked the idea and in our living room especially, the wall mounted tv is hidden amongst the pictures...and i love going to peoples houses and seeing things to look at, and be inspired by, everywhere...beats that cold, clean modernist look everytime in my book!

what not to wear

as you know, i'm usually very positive with my blog postings. that stopped this week when i saw this! whilst i'm full of admiration for thom brownes move into home furnishings, maybe someone should tell him where the lampshade is actually supposed to go! stop the madness and start designing clothes people can wear thom!

this is doug...everybody say hello!...now at first glance you may think doug was a man down on his luck, but look again...everything he is wearing is the best possible vintage piece man can find...and with good reason, doug is the vintage buyer for RRL, ralph laurens vintage inspired line that is so good i salivate when i walk into the store, literally!
doug is also a great lesson in never judging a book by its cover...you just never know whats inside!
